JuJu Smith-Schuster just set the record straight about dancing on logos

After an embarrassing night in Cincinnati, JuJu Smith-Schuster has set the record straight about whether he’ll dance on anymore logos. 

Maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers losing streak was too much. Perhaps a hit to the head straightened him out Monday night.

No matter the reason, JuJu Smith-Schuster has elected to change his pregame’s ritual following the team’s 27-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Smith-Schuster, who has ruffled feathers for his TikTok dances on team’s logo, recently was blown up in a game by Bengals’ safety Vonn Bell, a clear but clean retaliation to Smith-Schuster’s pregame disrespect of his opponent’s midfield logo.

It’s also worth mentioning that since the dancing has started, the fourth-year receiver has yet to have 100 yards on the day. But now the dancing will happen in the dark, or at least away from the field.

Meanwhile, the Steelers are now on a three-game losing streak after being the final club in 2020 to remain undefeated at 11-0. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday he would speak with Smith-Schuster about the situation before Week 16’s showdown against the Indianapolis Colts.

“And I do plan to talk to JuJu,” Tomlin said. “But we’re professionals. I doubt any of those antics and things of that nature are legitimate motivating factors as you step into professional stadiums. It’s about respect.”

Can the Steelers turn it around before the playoffs?

Bell wasn’t the first player to call out Smith-Schuster for his antics this season. During the Week 14 showdown against the Buffalo Bills, safety Jordan Poyer told reporters that his dancing skills motivated them to play better.

Buffalo caused two turnovers and scored a touchdown in a 26-15 victory that put them in a tie for the No.2 seed in the AFC.

The biggest problem for the Steelers might not be on the field, but rather off it. Yes, the team has clinched a playoff spot, but find the leader of the locker room? There’s no Troy Polamalu or Jerome Bettis that’ll guide this team into the postseason.

Ben Roethlisberger’s arm is shot. Last game, his longest throw came on a 23-yard touchdown to Diontae Johnson. His next longest? Eight yards. He averaged 4.5 yards per catch.

And the longest play of the night, a 34-yard reception from Chase Claypool, 33 of those yards came from after the catch.

The Steelers have shown after two losses to sub .500 teams, they were always overrated. Dancing or not, it’ll be a miracle to see the Steel City pick up another win in 2020.
