It’s been a rough start for the Warriors but Stephen Curry’s free-throw stroke is right on point. He’s been perfect to start the season, extending a career-best streak.

The Warriors were shellacked on Opening Night, losing to the Brooklyn Nets by 26. Things didn’t start much better on Christmas, as they faced a 10-point deficit heading into halftime against the Milwaukee Bucks. Everything about the offense has looked out of sorts, which should be expected to some degree considering Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are out of the lineup. But even Stephen Curry has struggled, shooting 11-of-31 from the field and 4-of-17 from behind the arc in his first six quarters.

But at least his free throw stroke has been looking hot.

Curry has made 9-of-9 free throws to start the season, extending a career-best streak of consecutive made free throws.

When was the last time Stephen Curry missed a free throw?

Because of injuries, Curry played in just five games last season (all regular season because the Warriors missed the playoffs) and went 26-of-26 from beyond the arc. That means the last time Curry missed a free throw in an official NBA game was Game 4 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, on June 7, 2019. If you don’t have a calendar handy, that’s 567 days since Curry’s last miss from the free-throw line.

Obviously, this streak has been artificially extended by all the games Curry missed last season, but it’s impressive nonetheless. For his career, regular season and postseason, he’s missed just 323 of 3432 free throws and has the best free throw percentage all time. The Warriors will need a lot more than Curry’s accuracy from the free-throw line to turn this season around but it’s always fun watching one of the greatest of all time flexing with the skill that separates them from everyone else.
