This Sunday, the NFL presents a battle of two NFC West teams. Let’s take a look at this single game Draftkings Showdown slate from a fantasy football perspective!

Before I discuss my Draftkings player picks for Sunday’s game, let’s take a look at the key DFS injuries for both teams and briefly review the rules for the single game showdown contest.

DFS Injuries

Rams: OUT: Cam Akers, RB.

Seahawks: OUT: DeeJay Dallas, RB. DOUBTFUL: Mike Lupatl, G. QUESTIONABLE: Brandon Shell, T: Damarlous Randall, SS.

Let’s shift our focus to the rules for the Draftkings single game showdown contest. You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard Draftkings points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard Draftkings points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a Draftkings showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the Draftkings showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

Here are my Draftkings player selections for Sunday afternoon’s game!

Captain

Robert Woods, WR $13,800 Captain Price/Flex Price $9,200

I think it’s safe to say that Rams quarterback Jared Goff likes throwing the football to Robert Woods. In his last five games played, Los Angeles wide receiver Robert Woods has been targeted by his Rams signal caller 54 times! Woods has turned those 54 targets into 40 receptions, 383 receiving yards, and two touchdowns.

Now that we have determined the fantasy value of Robert Woods, let’s turn our attention to the defense he will face this week. Through 14 games played this season, the Seattle Seahawks are dead last (32nd) in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to the wide receiver position. In my opinion, from a fantasy/Draftkings perspective, Woods has a clear opportunity to perform at a high level on Sunday afternoon.

It should be noted that the Rams and Seahawks faced off earlier in the season. Los Angeles defeated the Seahawks 23-16 in week 10. In the Rams week 10 victory over Seattle, Robert Woods accumulated five receptions.

Flex Plays

Russell Wilson, QB $11,400

The 31 year old quarterback is quite simply playing outstanding this season. Through 14 games played, Wilson has accumulated 3,806 yards and 37 passing touchdowns. That is an average of 271.86 passing yards and 2.64 passing touchdowns a game! Those outstanding statistics translate to an average of 25.3 Draftkings points a game.

Malcolm Brown, RB $4,400

I noted earlier in this article that the Rams have officially ruled out running back Cam Akers due to injury. Earlier this week, Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay reported that  the Rams planned to utilize running backs Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson Jr. in Sunday’s game versus the Seattle Seahawks. Brown arrives on the Draftkings single game showdown slate at only $4,000.

Jason Myers, K $3,200

The Seattle Seahawks Jason Myers has been one of the most reliable kickers in the NFL this season. Just take a look at the data. In 14 games played this season, Myers has attempted 20 field goals. The result has been the same every time he has been called upon. Myers has made all 20 field goals he has attempted. That’s the type of reliability I am looking for in a fantasy kicker.

Gerald Everett, TE $1,800

The Rams are utilizing 12 personnel more frequently. For those readers that are not aware, 12 personnel incorporates a two tight end set. That means that Los Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett has been on the field on a more consistent basis lately. In his last three games played, Everett has been targeted by his quarterback 14 times. In my opinion, Gerald Everett presents outstanding fantasy upside at the low Draftkings price of only $1,800.

Next. NFL DFS bargain bin week 16. dark

Additional Flex Plays I like: Jared Goff, QB $10,000: Cooper Kupp, WR $9,000: Tyler Lockett, WR $8,800.
