Larry Fitzgerald continues to quietly kick butt for Cardinals
By John Buhler
There is a reason Larry Fitzgerald is the greatest player in Arizona Cardinals history.
Larry Fitzgerald has put together a hall-of-fame career entirely with the Arizona Cardinals.
While he is in the twilight of his illustrious career, Fitzgerald continues to do the little things necessary to help his team win. Though DeAndre Hopkins is Arizona’s No. 1 wide receiver option these days, Fitzgerald pulled off something that has only happened once before in NFL history. In his 17th season, he was able to get to with at least 50 receptions on the year for the 17th time.

Even in his late 30s, Larry Fitzgerald continues to make big-time plays
Despite rarely having high-end NFL caliber quarterbacks rifling him the ball outside of Kurt Warner, Carson Palmer and now Kyler Murray, Fitzgerald has amassed over 1,400 receptions for over 17,000 yards and over 120 touchdowns. Those numbers stack up with just about anyone in the history of the NFL, outside of Jerry Rice, of course. It is a testament to Fitzgerald’s longevity.
Arizona looks to be playoff bound on what may very well be Fitzgerald’s final professional season. He may go year-to-year at this point, but surely the Cardinals organization will be happy to have him as long as he wants to keep playing the Valley of the Sun. Again, he is the gold standard of the Cardinals organization. It is amazing that he has been this consistently productive for so long.
This is why Fitzgerald is an NFL legend, as one of the greatest receivers in the league’s history.
