NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 16 Sunday Slates Quarterbacks

Baker Mayfield, CLE at NYJ ($6,100-DK/$7,600-FD)

It may be difficult to believe, but Mayfield is playing what might be the best ball of his career at the moment without the services of his most physically talented receiver, Odell Beckham, Jr. The third-year quarterback has the Browns in contention for a potential AFC North crown with his strong performances over the last four games, throwing for 1,232 yards and generating a 10:1 TD:INT during that span while adding a rushing score as well.

Mayfield now heads into one of the best matchups for any quarterback this season, facing a porous Jets secondary that carries a No. 29 ranking in pass defense DVOA. In addition to that unsightly figure, New York is also allowing the third-most passing yards per game (279.8) and third-highest average yards per attempt (7.5). Additionally, Gang Green has given up the second-most passing touchdowns (30) in the league and an NFL-high 70.63 percent completion rate, making it an all-around favorable scenario for Mayfield  to offer strong returns on his current salaries.

Mitchell Trubisky, CHI at JAX ($5,700-DK/$7,200-FD)

Trubisky is another frequently embattled signal-caller that’s impressed in recent games, with the 2017 fourth overall pick completing better than 70.0 percent of his passes in three straight contests and posting an 8:3 TD:INT over the last four overall. The mobile fourth-year pro has added 57 rushing yards in his last two games, and like Mayfield, he draws a Week 16 matchup that could well aid him in continuing his recent string of success. The one-win Jags appear headed straight for the first overall pick in April and carry an NFL-worst No. 32 pass defense DVOA into this contest.

The Jaguars are also giving up an NFL-high 8.1 yards per attempt, while Trubisky has a solid 7.3 figure in that category over his last four games. Then, consider Jacksonville has also given up the most passing TDs in the league (31), an average of 24.4 DK/23.0 FD points per game to quarterbacks and the 10th-most rushing yards (301) to the position as well. For his part, Trubisky is averaging an impressive 6.0 yards per rush and could certainly help boost his fantasy production with his legs in this all-around favorable matchup.

ALSO CONSIDER: Drew Lock, DEN at LAC ($5,000-DK/$6,800-FD)
