C. New York Yankees. Gary Sanchez. 43. Pick Analysis. 2. player. Scouting Report

It very well looks like Gary Sanchez’s tenure in New York may be coming to an end.

The young catcher has faced plenty of criticism during his struggles the past few seasons. And we all know no MLB team puts you under a bigger microscope than the Yankees.

In 2016 and 2017, Sanchez hit .299 and .278 with 20 and 33 home runs respectively, according to baseball reference. Since his hot start, he hit under .200 twice and just .232 in 2019. Sanchez’s defense has been nothing to write home about either as he has struggled keeping the ball in front of him behind the plate the past few seasons.

Forget the struggles, Sanchez has the talent and could benefit greatly from a change of scenery — especially moving to a small market like Milwaukee.

For those truly worried about the defensive issues, remember when Yasmani Grandal came to Milwaukee after his struggles to block the baseball? Grandal turned it around while working with the Brewers coaching staff and flourished offensively as well.

Sanchez would be a major upgrade over Manny Pina and Omar Narvaez behind the plate, and the right trade package could make the trade a no brainer for the Yankees. The Brewers could finally part ways with catcher Jacob Nottingham and include the intriguing young outfield prospect Tyrone Taylor.
