Red Sox reporters have some highly amusing Manny Ramirez stories.

There’s a thread running through Twitter this week asking people to tell mundane stories about spending time with a celebrity and a few Red Sox reporters have shared some hilarious tales of their time spent with former Boston Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez.

The first story came from Dan Roche of CBS Boston and he recalled eating at a fast-food chain (random) and a post-meal gift (also random).

“Went to a McDonalds in rural Illinois with Manny Ramirez. We sat in a booth and had lunch. He then bought a bottle of cologne off someone in the parking lot.”

Who wouldn’t want to have McDonald’s with Manny Ramirez?

Piggybacking off that story was James Stewart of 985thesportshub.com who shared his own story of the fan-favorite outfielder.

“My Manny Ramirez story, as the media was let into the Red Sox clubhouse, I opened the clubhouse door, as I walk in, Manny, slapped me on the ass and says, ‘good to see you pal!’ I had never interacted with him before that moment.”

That one is borderline sexual harassment so it’s a good thing Stewart was a good sport about it.

Here’s to hoping more people come forward with hilarious tales of the Ramirez era.
