The Alabama Crimson Tide are Rose Bowl champions and will play for a national title.
Alabama football fans can rejoice, as their favorite team is one win away from yet another national championship.
The Alabama Crimson Tide were able to hold on to beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 31-14 in the 2021 Rose Bowl where DeVonta Smith was named the game’s MVP after scoring three touchdowns. They will face the winner of the Sugar Bowl between the Clemson Tigers and the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national title in a few weeks. It is expected that Alabama will face Clemson in yet another College Football Playoff. Here is how the media reacts to Alabama’s win.
Alabama could have one of the greatest teams in college football history
Only a year ago we saw the 2019 LSU Tigers set the college football world on fire with their explosive offense and now Alabama is putting up points at a staggering pace.

Notre Dame made it boring and that’s progress

Nick Saban has been at Alabama for 14 seasons. This is his eighth national championship game.

It is amazing how quickly times change, as Alabama has one of the most versatile and strong offenses in recent memory in college football.
Alabama becomes the first team in the CFP era to AVERAGE a playoff win per season. This was its seventh CFP win.

Notre Dame might have lost the Rose Bowl, but it beat Missouri for fewest points allowed to Alabama this season.

Notre Dame played pretty well. Alabama is an absolute machine.

With an improving defense, Alabama does not have any weaknesses as a football team, and that is going to be a problem for whoever ends up playing the Crimson Tide down in Miami in a few weeks.
For the ninth time in 13 CFP semifinal games, the victory margin has been at least 17 points. For the 12th time in 19 CFP games overall the margin was at least 17.

Alabama is now on to the national title game.

Will be the fifth national championship game appearance in the last six years for Bama.
Did they even bother making any "Notre Dame Rose Bowl Champions" merch this year?

What is interesting is both Clemson and Ohio State have defeated Alabama before in College Football Playoff games, so that is certainly a possibility in play in the national title bout.

Guessing it didn’t always feel like it was happening, but Alabama scored a season-low 31 points and this was the Tide’s lowest offensive output since being blown out by Clemson in the national title game two years ago.

Overall, everybody knew Alabama would beat Notre Dame easily. While the Irish made it closer than expected, Alabama may need a tad more giddy-up on offense to be able to outscore either a Clemson or an Ohio State offense that is also capable of putting up points. As Alabama celebrates winning the Rose Bowl, the Crimson Tide faithful the next one is the only one that matters.
Does the Sugar Bowl winner have any chance vs. Alabama in the national title bout?
