Mason Rudolph wants to make up with Myles Garrett, but needs to see some effort from the Browns DE.

No, this isn’t a soap opera, we swear. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on local cable, sorry. But on Sunday, Garrett and Rudolph will face off for the first time since their infamous last meet-up, which ended when the former was ejected for bashing the latter with his helmet. Garrett was rightly suspended for the rest of the season, and his reputation was perhaps forever sullied.

Come Sunday, Garrett will be a team captain for the first time this season in a must-win game for the Browns should they want to make the AFC postseason. Despite the Steelers’ decision to start Rudolph — which comes as a way to give Ben Roethlisberger some much needed time off ahead of the Pittsburgh’s own playoff run — there is no ill will on either side of the equation, apparently.

Rudolph is willing to hear Garrett out, should that moment ever come

“He has not reached out to me in any capacity,” Rudolph said, per NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala. “I’m happy to hear Myles out.”

Rudolph went on to compliment the player Garrett has become, and he’s right to do so. Garrett is in the running with Rudolph’s teammate TJ Watt for AFC Defensive Player of the Year.

Both men have moved on from the event that thus far defines their careers. Garrett was the Browns representative for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Rudolph is fighting to prove he can be the quarterback of the future for the Steelers, especially with Ben Roethlisberger entering the twilight of his career.

A show of solidarity on Sunday would go a long way in putting a disastrous moment behind them.
