If Jim Harbaugh hired Tom Herman to coach on his Michigan offense, the world would explode.

Tom Herman needs a job after being fired by the Texas Longhorns and all the money in the world on Jim Harbaugh‘s potential extension at Michigan is not going to make his mediocre offense any better.

But what if I told you these two Urban Meyer haters united to make the Michigan Wolverines great again? For this to happen, Harbaugh would have to either demote or fire current offensive coordinator Josh Gattis, but the college football world deserves the holy triumvirate of Harbaugh, Herman and Will Muschamp as defensive coordinator on one team. In this economy?

Think of the message boards if Michigan hires Herman

While winning is cool and all, content is king. We want to be entertained, dammit. The soundbites you could get out of the Michigan program with Harbaugh as the head coach, Herman as the offensive coordinator and Muschamp as the defensive coordinator would be like a rock and roll supergroup come to life. It is the only way Michigan finds a way to beat Ohio State at some point.

As for Gattis, he is just gonna have to bide his time and wait his turn. He may be an excellent coach, but Herman has a reputation to uphold. Expect the Wolverines to be the most penalized team in the Big Ten, not because of the players, but from the coaches on the sidelines and up in the booth. Has a coach up in the booth ever gotten assessed a penalty flag before? We will see.

Harbaugh hiring Herman does not make Michigan better, but it makes them more interesting.
