Cleveland Browns fans will love what Myles Garrett had to say following their playoff-clinching win in Week 17.

For the past 18 years, Cleveland Browns fans dealt with no playoffs, an 0-16 record and countless first overall picks as far as the eyes can see. But three days into 2021, the Browns gave their long-tortured fanbase a late Christmas present — a playoff berth.

On Sunday, the Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-22 to not only extend their regular-season record to 11-5, but also secured one of the three Wild-Card spots in the AFC.

Following the game, star defensive lineman Myles Garrett had a simple, yet powerful statement for Browns fans. This was their reward for all the years of time and energy they’ve invested in their beloved football team.

Browns overcame many obstacles to reach the playoffs

The past two weeks have been rough for Cleveland to get in playoff position.

The Browns lost their entire starting receiving corps in Week 16 due to being high-risk close contacts to linebacker BJ Goodson. That played a role in the Browns losing an extremely winnable game against the New York Jets. Not only that, but the team had to shut down their facility four times in the past eight days due to positive COVID-19 tests, which included Goodson, cornerback Denzel Ward, rookie tight end Harrison Bryant and safety Andrew Sendejo.

Entering the final week of the regular-season, the goal was simple for the Browns — win and you’re in. That’s exactly what they did, thanks to the 108 yard by running back Nick Chubb, who set the tone early with his 45-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Browns did face some adversity in the form of a late Steelers comeback, but they held on to win.

Now, the Browns will spend the next week preparing for their Wild-Card Round contest against the Steelers, which will take place in Pittsburgh this time around. Whatever the end result may be, Browns fans finally have a reason to celebrate. Enjoy it.
