Chiefs bringing back beloved special teams player for one more playoff run

The Kansas City Chiefs bring back a familiar face in veteran punter Dustin Colquitt.
With nothing but playoff games the rest of the way this season, the Kansas City Chiefs have signed veteran punter Dustin Colquitt to their practice squad.
Colquitt spent his first 15 years in the NFL with the team that drafted him. He was taken in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of the University of Tennessee. Colquitt made two Pro Bowls while in Kansas City uniform in 2012 and 2016, winning a Super Bowl as part of last year’s team. He spent time this season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Will anything get in the way of the Chiefs winning back-to-back Super Bowls?
Because the Chiefs had the best record in the AFC this year, they are the lone team on bye in their conference this weekend. Kansas City will face the lowest advancing seed in the AFC Divisional Round next weekend. If the Chiefs win two games at Arrowhead Stadium this January, they will repeat as AFC Champions en route to a Super Bowl 55 berth down in Tampa, Florida.

The good news for the Chiefs is they only have one, maybe two, formidable challengers in the AFC playoffs: the Buffalo Bills and maybe the Baltimore Ravens if everything goes right for them. No matter how well any of the six other playoff teams perform, the road to Raymond James Stadium out of the AFC runs through Arrowhead Stadium. It would be a shocker if it is not the Chiefs.
Adding Colquitt feels mostly ceremonial here, but we will see if he does play in a playoff game.
