DeVonta Smith does not care about any Heisman Trophy jinx nonsense.

Fresh off winning the Heisman Trophy six days ago, Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver DeVonta Smith responded marvelously with one heck of a first half vs. the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2021 National Championship game.

Smith dominated the Buckeyes in the first two frames, as he had 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns. He broke the College Football Playoff National Championship game record for most catches and touchdowns. . .in the first half, only seven yards short of breaking the game’s receiving record in just two quarters. Smith was nothing short of unbelievable vs. Ohio State.

DeVonta Smith is proof jinxes are dumb and records are meant to be broken

During Smith’s short, but memorable Heisman Trophy speech, he inspired all the young kids in the world who are deemed to small and not strong enough to put the haters in their place by putting one’s head down and getting to work. Smith has been all about the work during his four years with the Crimson Tide. It is why he will go down as the greatest wide receiver in program history.

DeVonta Smith out-gained the entire Ohio State offense, 215 yards to 191 in the first half.
