Monday Night Raw was shuffled around due to COVID-19 as multiple performers were called on to wrestle two matches during the evening.

Monday Night Raw was hit with some tough news before the night started as Drew McIntyre is now in quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 test. The news impacted multiple wrestling promotions and shows, but WWE continued with its weekly programming as the weeks chipped away to the Royal Rumble. This show was yet another step in the developments heading into one of the most important PPVs of the year.

Charlotte Flair started off the night in single’s action, taking on Lacey Evans to open the night. Flair had a chip on her shoulder because Evans has been making advances at her father, Ric. Flair was in control early in the match, making a fool out of Evans along the way.

However, Ric Flair wasn’t far behind as he made an appearance mid-way through the match. Even with that distraction, Charlotte looked to have the upper hand until Evans took over when they were in the corner. The two continued to trade offense back and forth until Flair landed the Natural Selection and went for the pin. But Ric Flair put Evans leg on the rope, breaking the count. To make it even worse, he tripped Charlotte and helped Evans to pick up the victory.

Jeff Hardy and Elias haven’t been on the best terms of late and they met in another singles match on Monday. Instead of Elias, he ended up facing Jaxson Ryker as Elias was “injured.” The match was quick as Hardy started with a lot of offense but a distraction by Elias led to Hardy being rolled up for the victory.

Hardy took advantage of Elias’s ego and goaded him into a match as well, wanting revenge after that distraction. Elias wasn’t as lucky as Ryker, as he was unable to get any momentum on his side. Elias had his moments but after taking the Twist of Fate and the Swanton Bomb, Hardy scored the pin and the rebound victory.

Sheamus and Keith Lee might not be the best of friends, but they “respected” each other enough to team against John Morrison and the Miz.

Lee and Sheamus started off working well together, taking turns assaulting Morrison and then the Miz right after. Morrison tried to go low to take out Lee’s legs, but that didn’t help at all. In fact, Lee tossed Morrison into the turnbuckle so hard that it completely detached from the ring

Miz and Morrison had to resort to underhanded tactics to turn the tide in their favor. They did an excellent job staying in between Lee and Sheamus until the Miz took the Irish Curse Backbreaker, giving him the space to make the tag to Lee. Lee cleaned up both men and opened the door for Sheamus to finish things off with the Brogue Kick and the pin.

However, during the commercial break the two men had a falling-out, resulting into them wanting to fight. The bell rang and Sheamus and Keith Lee went at each other in a one-on-one match. These two didn’t hold back their punches, blasting each other both inside and out of the ring. Sheamus kicked Lee’s leg out from under him and then began to focus on the big man’s arm. Sheamus even took a rare trip to the top rope, landing a clothesline and a pump knee.

That still wasn’t enough to put away Lee though, as he fought out of the arm bar position to hit the Spirit Bomb on Sheamus, giving him the pinfall and win.

Xavier Woods of the New Day was up next for singles action against T-Bar from RETRIBUTION. Woods had to fight an uphill battle because he was the smaller man in this contest. T-Bar took advantage of that fact, flattening Woods any opportunity available.

Woods didn’t go away without a fight, however. He landed a huge missile dropkick, knocking T-Bar from the ring. But the number game didn’t help as the distraction from the rest of RETRIBUTION allowed T-Bar to get the advantage and land a big knee to the face, Eyes Wide Shut, to get the pinfall victory.

A United States title match was up next. Bobby Lashley and Matt Riddle met in the ring with Lashley’s belt on the line. Last week, Riddle defeated Lashley after catching him with a surprise rollup.

Lashley jumped Riddle before the bell officially started and continued to do so even after. Riddle had a moment offense but even that wasn’t enough to save him. Lashley caught Riddle in mid-air, slamming him to the ground. Lashley then applied the Hurt Lock and forced Riddle to submit, keeping the title around his waist.

Riddle was frustrated with this performance and called out MVP to fight. MVP accepted but it wasn’t long before things broke down into a fight where Lashley joined in. Riddle won via disqualification, but Riddle was left laying after the beat down.

Drew Gulak wanted an opportunity to take part in the Royal Rumble, but to get there he had to get through AJ Styles. They faced off in a singles match with Gulak getting off to a great start, going after multiple pins on the former champion.

Gulak was doing well until the Pele Kick landed square on the top of his head, dropping him to the mat. Gulak was tossed back into the ring and met with a Phenomenal Forearm for his troubles. Styles easily picked up the pinfall from there.

Women’s tag team action was including on Monday. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax competed against Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke.

Brooke and Rose were doing well at the onset of the match, but it wasn’t long until the bully tactics of Rose and Baszler came into play. Brooke had to save a near pinfall on Rose but didn’t help herself after Baszler hit her with a stiff backbreaker. Rose was left reeling and Baszler tagged herself into the match, much to the dismay of Jax, taking the momentum and finishing Rose off with the Kirifuda Clutch.

The main event of the night featured Triple H taking on Randy Orton in a singles battle. This wasn’t an official match and the two went right at it, throwing punches and brawling. Before things could come to an end, the lights would flicker and cut out, then Triple H’s sledgehammer would catch fire, signaling the return of the Fiend. But instead of the Fiend, it was Alexa Bliss shooting a fireball directly into Randy Orton’s face, leaving him writhing in pain.
