JuJu Smith-Schuster wasted no time shooting down reports he’s ready to leave Pittsburgh to try and play in a bigger market.

It wasn’t the 2020 campaign JuJu Smith-Schuster and the Pittsburgh Steelers were hoping for. Pittsburgh, which started the season a perfect 11-0, went 1-4 during its last five games of the regular season and then suffered a disappointing loss to the Browns in the Wild Card Round.

Only a few days after that defeat, rumors surfaced stating Smith-Schuster wasn’t happy in Pittsburgh and could be looking at leaving the team during his free agency to try and play in a bigger market. Well, Smith-Schuster took to Twitter to let Steelers fans know that’s not the case.

Time and time again, the speedy wideout has said he’s quite happy with the team and has dreams of helping them win a Super Bowl. He is about to become a free agent for the first time in his career, with several teams expected to try and land him. Can Pittsburgh bring him back?

This past season, the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder caught 97 balls for 831 yards and nine touchdowns. No one has forgotten about Smith-Schuster’s remarkable 2018 campaign either, where he posted 111 receptions for 1,427 yards and seven scores. When he’s fully healthy, he’s one of the best pass-catchers in the AFC.

Looking ahead to next season, the Steelers will look to bounce back and get themselves in a position to compete for the Lombardi Trophy. Whether or not Ben Roethlisberger decides to return for another year or retire remains up in the air.

For Smith-Schuster, he’ll be ready to ball out, but no one knows right now where that will be. He clearly loves Pittsburgh and has said he’d like to return. It’s up to the front office to try and make it happen.
