2021 NFL Mock Draft: DeVonta Smith charges up the draft board after National Championship Game

The NFL season is entering the Divisional Round this weekend, which means the 2021 NFL Draft is ever so close.
As we enter the Divisional Round of the 2020 NFL Playoffs, we have eight teams remaining that all have a shot at winning it all. If the Super Wild Card Weekend was any indication, we are in for an exciting weekend, as the field gets whittled down to four before Championship Sunday.
With that said, here is our latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft.
Quarterback. Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence. 1. player. 52.
No change here, as Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is still the consensus first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. There had been some questions as to whether Justin Fields could pass him up as the No. 1 pick after the Sugar Bowl, but all of that was put to rest by Fields’ sub-par appearance against Alabama. In Lawrence, the Jacksonville Jaguars get a once-in-a-generation talent at quarterback, someone who could put this franchise back into the playoffs. There is a chance they get Urban Meyer to be their head coach as well, so a big offseason is coming for the Jags.
30. . Quarterback. New York Jets. Zach Wilson. 2. player
This is where our mock draft gets a little interesting, as the New York Jets replace Sam Darnold at quarterback, but do so with BYU’s Zach Wilson. Justin Fields had a rough showing in the national title game, and that could scare some teams away, so at pick No. 2, the Jets bring in Wilson to lead their next era of football. New York is getting a new head coach this season, and with general manager Joe Douglas, not the guy who drafted Darnold, it won’t be hard for him to move on. In Wilson, they get a player who is going to be dynamic at the next level, and now they have to go out and get him some weapons to throw to.
Miami Dolphins. DeVonta Smith. 3. player. 59. . Wide Receiver
There are rumors that the Miami Dolphins may choose to move on from Tua Tagovailoa after a rookie season where he struggled quite a bit. However, I do not see that happening this offseason, and with the No. 3 overall pick, they land his former teammate in Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver DeVonta Smith. Smith made a mockery of the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national title game and capped off one of the more dominant seasons from a wideout in college football history. Smith and Tagovailoa form an incredible tandem in South Beach for years to come, giving the Dolphins’ offense an explosive option on the outside.
