New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton just absolutely torched the Philadelphia Eagles during a recent media session.

How could things get any worse for the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans? Well, leave it to New Orleans head coach Sean Payton to put the organization as a whole in a body bag. On Wednesday morning, Payton was asked about his team’s recent special teams signings.

Were these moves made thanks to some motivation from the Eagles? Well, if you ask Payton, that most certainly was not the case. Matter of fact, Payton doesn’t want the two teams linked in any way.

Oh man, Payton clearly didn’t like being compared to the Eagles one bit. Can you blame him? Things are an absolute mess right now for the NFC East team. Not only did they just finish the season 4-11-1, but the front office also decided to fire veteran head coach Doug Pederson.

As bad as things are in Philadelphia, the opposite is the case in New Orleans. This weekend, Payton and the Saints will take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a trip to the NFC Championship Game on the line. The Saints’ confidence is high right now, especially after making easy work of the Bears in the Wild Card Round.

New Orleans is playing with plenty of motivation too, as reports have stated quarterback Drew Brees is expected to retire at the end of the season. His teammates want to do everything possible to make sure he goes out with another Super Bowl ring.

The Saints are ready to keep things going with a big win on Sunday. As for Payton, let the man focus on getting another victory and don’t distract him with any silly Eagles comparisons.
