A disastrous turn of events has put the Ravens in an awful position in their divisional playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.

First, Lamar Jackson threw a back-breaking pick-six when the Ravens were driving. Baltimore went from nearly tying the game to down two touchdowns, and facing the wrath of Bills Mafia on their next possession.

A bad snap exchange forced Jackson to chase the ball down just a few plays later. While he was able to pick up the football, scramble around and toss it away for an intentional grounding, avoiding a safety or turnover in the process, the reigning NFL was injured. Jackson was taken to the locker room and we’re awaiting further word on his status for the remainder of the game.

We’ll update this story with more information as we get it. Jackson is in concussion protocol.

The Ravens have only themselves to blame for deficit to Bills

While Buffalo is more than capable on both sides of the football, and surely the weather played a role, the Ravens missed two field goals in the first half and handed the Bills seven points with a costly turnover. Had they not made those errors, there’s a good chance Baltimore would be in position to pull off an upset, rather than head home from the postseason early.

Jackson’s injury status is the big takeaway from this game, and we can only hope he’s okay. But the pick-six will stand out on any highlight reel, and come off as another playoff failure for a young player still searching to prove his doubters wrong despite a laundry list of regular season accomplishments.
