51. Scouting Report. EDGE. Quincy Roche. Miami (FL). 2. player. Pick Analysis

Teams that pressure the quarterbacks usually are the ones that make the postseason. Of the top 10 teams that tallied the most sacks in 2020, seven are fighting for the Lombardi Trophy.

As mentioned, the Rams will have to decide on Floyd’s status for 2021. If they resign him, it’s a good fit for a 3-4 system. However, the team shouldn’t be afraid to add another name off the edge. They’ll be able to run similar to that of Pittsburgh, who led the league in sacks.

Gregory Rousseau will be one of the top pass rushers in the class and the best from the ACC.  Quincy Roche, a Temple graduate transfer, also is pretty nifty when it comes to forcing quarterbacks to run for their lives. A natural off the edge, the senior is explosive out of his break and has impeccable footwork that will leave offensive tackles tripping at the line.

More than that, Roche has shown the ability to blitz from a two-point stance. That’s critical for teams that run a set with two standing pass rushers who rarely leave the field. Roche proved in 2020 he has the skills to be a weapon off the edge. Snead should be circling his name on the draft board.
