Now that Carson Wentz has won the power struggle with Doug Pederson, everyone’s story in Philly is changing.

It’s been a wild last month for the Philadelphia Eagles. Not only did the team decide to part ways with veteran head coach Doug Pederson, but rumors continue to swirl that quarterback Carson Wentz is expected to ask the team to trade him.

Wentz rode the pine to close out the season in favor of rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts, who went on to impress with both his arm and wheels. However, there appears to be a twist in things, as a new report states Wentz hasn’t communicated to the front office once that he wants to leave Philly.

A report states Carson Wentz has never asked the Eagles to trade him

Wentz of course doesn’t want to be a backup quarterback and strongly believes he has what it takes to be a franchise signal-caller. With the emergence of Hurts, the word around town was that Wentz indeed was going to tell the Eagles to send him elsewhere.

However, that now doesn’t look to be the case.

If Wentz does end up staying in The City of Brotherly Love, he’ll have to out-battle Hurts to reclaim the starting job. Last season, Wentz entered the year with high expectations, but he struggled early and often. On the campaign, he threw for 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

That opened the door for Pederson to put Hurts in, with the former Oklahoma/Alabama quarterback definitely taking advantage of his reps running the offense. Looking forward, the Eagles situation at quarterback is up in the air for 2021, with no one knowing who will own the No. 1 job.

From the looks of it, though, Wentz is ready to stay with the Eagles in hopes of starting in Week 1 next September.

Next. Eagles have a new head-coaching candidate, and it’s terrifying. dark
