NFL free agency rumors: 3 players the Browns should target this offseason
Olivier Vernon did his part as the veteran pass rusher. He finished the season with an impressive nine sacks and a forced fumble. He also finished the year on the injured reserve and will be 31 next season.
it’s always about building a pass rush and trying to get to the quarterback. The Browns have one of the league’s best in Myles Garrett patrolling one end. Imagine if the team could get him a running mate that would terrorize quarterbacks on a daily basis.
After starting strong with the Minnesota Vikings, Yannick Ngakoue was traded to the Ravens. He tallied only three sacks as a situational pass rusher for the team and failed to live up to a massive contract entering the offseason.
Best used in situational pass rusher instead of a full three-down player, Ngakoue will need to join a roster that needs to address the pass rush. Cleveland needs a secondary rusher to take the pressure off Garrett and Larry Ogunjobi up the middle. In a 4-3 front, Ngakoue feels natural working up and into the backfield.
Baltimore isn’t afraid to let pass rushers walk. Nagokue could be salty and terrorize his former team twice a year as revenge.
