2021 NFL Mock Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars get Urban Meyer a quarterback
By Brad Weiss
The Dallas Cowboys struggled mightily without Dak Prescott under center in 2020, and while the team did fight for a playoff spot in the horrid NFC East, they finished outside of the postseason. This offseason, they need to lock Prescott down to a long-term deal, and then work on fixing their defense.
In the secondary, the Cowboys have to take serious consideration in bringing in a cornerback with the No. 10 overall pick this April. Caleb Farley from Virginia Tech is the second-best player at his position, and due to the fact this is a premium spot, he would be a great addition closing out the top-10.
The New York Giants needed the Philadelphia Eagles to beat the Washington Football Team in Week 17 to punch their ticket to the playoffs, and we all know what happened there. Doug Pederson likely tanked the game, and in the end, he lost his job, and the Giants landed the No. 11 overall pick.
With this selection, the Giants have to add some more pass rush to a very good defense, and they do so by drafting Michigan’s Kwity Paye. This guy is an absolute monster at getting after the quarterback and should be a double-digit sack guy at the next level.
One of the bigger question marks heading into this offseason in terms of the San Francisco 49ers is what they plan to do with Jimmy Garoppolo. They could trade him away to New England, sending back with his old head coach and coordinator, and that would mean they add a quarterback in the draft.
Mac Jones had an outstanding season at Alabama, leading them to an undefeated record and a national title. Also, he was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and based on his physical gifts, he should find himself as a first-round pick this April.
