Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was limited on Thursday, but all signs are pointing to him playing in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

Across the country, Kansas City Chiefs fans continue to wait and see whether or not Patrick Mahomes will be able to suit up against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. Well, the signal-caller was once again on the practice field on Thursday, albeit in a limited fashion because he remains in the concussion protocol.

However, head coach Andy Reid told the media after practice that Mahomes took the majority of the starter snaps with the rest of the first-team offense. This alone should have the KC faithful feeling great about his shot to play this weekend.

It’s feeling more and more likely that Patrick Mahomes will play on Sunday

Nothing will be official for Mahomes until he’s out of the concussion protocol and is cleared to suit up.

With that being said, if he’s been able to practice throughout the week and is taking the bulk of the practice reps with the rest of the starters, it’s hard to imagine Reid and the rest of the Chiefs staff don’t think he’ll be ready to rock at Arrowhead Stadium against Buffalo.

If for whatever reason Mahomes isn’t ready to go by kickoff, Kansas City would then put its dreams of getting back to the Super Bowl on the shoulders of Chad Henne. While Henne was a hero in the Divisional Round win over the Cleveland Browns, he doesn’t even come close to having the same talent as Mahomes.

The Chiefs, plain and simple, need Mahomes out on the field to have their best shot at taking down Buffalo and Josh Allen. Sunday’s AFC title game should be an absolute thriller, with Mahomes and Allen ready to put on a show. Again, nothing will be official until Mahomes is cleared, but it’d be a stunner at this point if that doesn’t happen.

Next. The Chiefs just released a very telling video of Patrick Mahomes. dark
