The son of the rapper and songwriter received his first two scholarship offers.

Rick Ross is a rapper, songwriter and founder of the record label Maybach Music Group. We can now add the title of proud football dad to the list.

Ross’ son, William Roberts, is a 2024 recruit out of Fort Lauderdale who played offensive tackle for St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Even though he’s unranked, considering he’s a freshman, he received scholarship offers from two top ACC schools. On Wednesday, Roberts revealed on Twitter that those programs were Miami and Syracuse.

Roberts get his first of likely many scholarship offers

“Will’s size, strength and athleticism have enabled him to play some quality time this season and start a couple of games,” St. Thomas Aquinas head coach Roger Harriott told 247Sports. “He’s an extremely talented player and a well-rounded, character-oriented person. His best days are ahead of him.”

The 6-foot-2, 270-pound freshman made the varsity team in his first year at St.Thomas Aquinas, which finished 8-1 on the season and won Florida’s Class 7A state championship after defeating Edgewater 31-21.

St. Thomas Aquinas is no stranger to top talent. Some names to come out of the high school are Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa, San Francisco 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa, Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins, Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Damon Arnette and Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin. Ironically, Irvin played for the Miami Hurricanes after graduating high school.

Besides the two ACC programs, Roberts also received a scholarship offer from Florida International. Considering he just completed his freshman season, there’s going to be plenty of other offers heading his way in the coming years.
