Steelers fans are going to hate who the front office has brought in to interview for the open offensive coordinator position.

Of all the open positions in the NFL right now, you’ve got to think the offensive coordinator role with the Pittsburgh Steelers has the be one of the most desired ones. While the season didn’t end the way they wanted it to in 2020, losing to Cleveland in the Wild Card Round, the pieces are there to go on a deep postseason run next season.

With that being said, why in the world is the front office taking a look at one of the worst head coaches in NFL history to join the team in Pittsburgh? That’s right, per a report, the Steelers interviewed Hue Jackson for their OC job earlier this week.

Pittsburgh interviewing Hue Jackson for its open offensive coordinator job is a joke

Steelers fans are losing their minds on Twitter of this and you can’t blame them for it. Jackson spent 2.5 seasons as head coach of the Browns, with Cleveland being a laughingstock from start to finish during his days leading the team.

In his time running the show, Cleveland went 3-36-1, including it’s 0-16 record in 2017. No one has forgotten about the winless Browns. Yet, the Steelers are giving him a look to potentially be the team’s new offensive coordinator?

Mike Tomlin has always spoken highly of Jackson, so it’d make sense why he’d be interested in having him join his staff. At the same time, Jackson taking over the offense feels like it’d have Ben Roethlisberger, JuJu Smith-Schuster and others take two steps backwards instead of forward.

With jobs starting to be filled across the league, we could see Pittsburgh make its OC decision sooner than later. Steelers fans no doubt are hoping just about anyone is hired over Jackson, though.
