2. No AFC East team is ready to challenge the Bills for divisional supremacy yet

The easiest way to winning the whole thing starts with the most important first goal any team should strive for each season: Winning your division. Though the Bills do not have a vise-like grip on their division like the Chiefs do on the AFC West, what team in the AFC East do you really think will prevent the Bills from repeating as division champions next year? Maybe in 2022, but not now.

The first team we can cross off is the New York Jets. This team was a grease fire in 2020 and even with a new head coach and possibly a new quarterback, we cannot count on Gang Green to do much of anything in the AFC until 2023 at the absolute earliest. The talent discrepancy between them and the Bills is massive and that will not be appropriately addressed in one offseason alone.

If you want to pick the likeliest team to unseat the Bills next year in the AFC, it might be the Miami Dolphins. They were a fringe playoff contender in the AFC throughout the season. However, issues surrounding the quarterback position has them as a distant second to the Bills in the AFC East. If Tua Tagovailoa was really the answer to Miami’s prayers, then why did they start Ryan Fitzpatrick?

Of course, we cannot forget about the Evil Empire coming off its worst season in a generation. The New England Patriots’ dynasty may be over, but head coach Bill Belichick may be one superstar quarterback away from knocking the Bills off their post. It was not Cam Newton, but somebody else could replace him in 2021. Either way, the Bills will host a playoff game again next January.
