After defeating the Buffalo Bills, Patrick Mahomes responded to an ESPN graphic that said Josh Allen was the better signal caller.

The football world was buzzing on NFL Championship Sunday, waiting to see which two teams would represent their respective conferences in Super Bowl 55. The last game of the day featured the AFC Championship Game between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.

Earlier in the day, ESPN posted a graphic on their programming comparing who had the advantage between the two squads. What got everyone talking was the network had the Bills having the advantage at quarterback, even though Patrick Mahomes is still lighting up the league with the Chiefs.

After the Chiefs defeated the Bills 38-24 to advance to their second-consecutive Super Bowl, Mahomes responded to the viral ESPN graphic on Twitter, replying with a simple yawning emoji.

Mahomes was not letting that slander slide

Let’s preface by saying that Allen had a hell of a season with Buffalo. Through 16-regular season games, the third-year quarterback threw for 4,544 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while rushing for 421 yards and eight scores on 102 carries. Allen was in the MVP race for a reason, but Mahomes is simply the better quarterback. And he proved that on Sunday evening.

In the AFC Championship Game, Mahomes tallied 325 passing yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.3-percent of his passes. And he did so while dealing with turf toe! As for Allen, the Bills signal caller threw for 287 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the contest, while putting up 88 yards on the ground on seven carries.

Mahomes being put in the underdog role was something we weren’t expecting, but he proved his doubters wrong. Now, Mahomes is solely focused on winning his second-consecutive Lombardi Trophy, but he’ll have to do so against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady and their dangerous defense.
