Klay Thompson shared pure joy calling a Stephen Curry 3-pointer Saturday night as the Warriors took down the Pistons.

Klay Thompson has not played a single game with the Golden State Warriors since signing his new contract in the summer of 2019. But he is staying engaged with the team and got on the broadcast Saturday night as the Warriors took on the Detroit Pistons.

Thompson appeared to be having a great time and even got to call a Steph Curry 3-point bomb from well beyond the arc. His pure excitement shone through on the call.

Thompson has seen Curry do it all before

This is a familiar sight for Thompson, but it still seems to amaze him every time Curry just casually knocks down a deep 3. He has become a fan just like the rest of us.

Having Thompson join the broadcast is fun and the #ReporterKlay sign behind him is just fantastic. Some injured players choose to sit at home. But not Thompson. He is with his teammates and is finding ways to stay busy during games while he recovers from his Achilles injury.

The Warriors went on to blow out the Pistons by a final score of 118-91 to improve to 11-9 on the year. Curry had an easy 28 points and hit six shots from 3-point range. He may have had more if the game hadn’t essentially been over by halftime.

Golden State is right in the heart of the Western Conference playoff race in 2021, even without Thompson. They are not the same without him, but players like Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman and Kelly Oubre Jr. are helping it not just be the Curry show.

Curry is still dominating, however, and that means Thompson can continue to look on as a fan and take in the legendary shooting abilities of his longtime teammate.
