While rumors continue to swirl surrounding Kirk Cousins’ future in Minnesota, it doesn’t look like he’ll get traded this offseason.

Once the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams made their blockbuster trade featuring Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff, NFL fans everywhere began dreaming up other possible deals to be made. Of course Aaron Rodgers was linked to a possible move, as well as Kirk Cousins and Deshaun Watson.

However, it doesn’t look like Cousins is going to be going anywhere. While multiple teams would surely be interested in acquiring him, Cousins looks all set to stay with the Vikings in 2021.

Don’t expect a Kirk Cousins trade to get done this offseason

Per Vikings insider Chad Graff, he believes the 49ers would be a team interested in trying to land Cousins. San Francisco has reportedly showcased interest in Rodgers as well. However, Graff notes that Minnesota would not be inclined to trade Cousins unless they receive a head-turning deal.

This makes sense. Cousins has a rocket for an arm and while he may struggle at times, he’s still got what it takes to lead Minnesota’s offense to some key victories moving forward. With that said, the Rams threw the Lions multiple first-round picks plus Jared Goff for Stafford. LA has a win-now mentality.

So, what if a team makes a similar kind of offer to Minnesota? If they provide some young studs, plus a first-round pick, would that be enough to get the Vikings to change their minds?

For now, it’s looking like Minnesota is set on moving forward with Cousins as their starting quarterback. At the end of the day, however, a big-time offer could change their minds. We’ll see if an offer like that rolls in.
