Jerry Jeudy believed the 2020 Alabama football team had a real shot to beat an NFL team.

Jerry Jeudy does not think there is a huge talent discrepancy between the 2020 Alabama football team and the worst NFL teams in the league last season.

It is a common sports talk conversation topic: Can the best college football team beat the worst NFL team? In most instances, the answer is “unequivocally, no.” However, Jeudy’s alma mater did have one of the greatest seasons in college football history. Combine that with how pitiful the 2020 Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets were at times and Jeudy might have a case here.

Could the 2020 Alabama football team have beaten the Jaguars or the Jets?

“Yeah, actually I was thinking about that this year,” Jeudy told FanSided‘s Mark Carman on behalf of Old Spice. “Watching them play this year, these guys are so good, I think they could beat an NFL team. Maybe. Maybe.”

Obviously, it is never going to happen. Not that a college team could ever beat an NFL team, but there is never going to be one of these All-Star games of sorts. While Jeudy thinks it would be a great opportunity for the stars of college football to strut their stuff, there is no way the worst team in the NFL would potentially subject themselves to that kind of embarrassment. No way.

“I think that would be good, just to see where you are at in college. I think what would be good, just to see where you are at as a player going against NFL players. But for NFL players, they’re probably looking at it like, ‘No, sir!'”

So could the 2020 Crimson Tide have beaten the 2020 Jaguars or the 2020 Jets? Because the answer is not immediately no, and that says everything about the question at hand. Obviously, the Jaguars and Jets would be multi-score favorites over the Crimson Tide, but if it were played at Bryant-Denny under the bright lights, Bama might have been able to pull it off, hypothetically.

This even being a discussion is a testament to how great of a team the 2020 Crimson Tide were.
