Former NFL signal-caller Carson Palmer’s take on Dak Prescott is sure to infuriate Dallas Cowboys fans everywhere.

Once again this offseason, the big question surrounding the Dallas Cowboys will be if Jerry Jones will be able to offer Dak Prescott the contract he’s been waiting for. The star signal-caller has yet to finalize a contract extension, with the two sides not being able to meet halfway.

It’s been frustrating for Cowboys fans, as the contract drama with Ezekiel Elliott was bad enough. Now to make things worse, former NFL quarterback Carson Palmer has stepped in to comment on the situation. Palmer’s take couldn’t be any worse, as he said Prescott needs to accept less money because he’s the Dallas signal-caller. What in the world?

Carson Palmer expecting Dak Prescott to take a discount on his new deal is a joke

While on with 105.3 The FAN in Dallas, Palmer basically said that because Prescott is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, his ability to make big bucks with endorsements will be through the roof. Because of this, he should take less money to help the team with the salary cap.

“You’ve seen Dak on tons of commercials and endorsements,” Palmer said. “You can make that same top-tier money if you’re Dak and you take a little bit less, and you keep all the players around you within the salary cap structure.”

Is Palmer being serious? He can’t expect Prescott to take less money just to help the team out. Did Elliott do that? No way. The running back signed a $90 million deal before the 2020 campaign got underway.

Prescott has every right to try and get a contract that pays him like one of the top quarterbacks in the league. For Palmer to suggest otherwise is comical.
