Ravens mock draft, Lamar Jackson

The Ravens want to continue to build around Lamar Jackson this offseason. Here’s the 7-round draft Baltimore should execute to do just that.

Baltimore still has one of the most talented rosters in the NFL despite bowing out of the AFC playoffs at the hands of the Bills this season. The Ravens don’t need to make massive roster changes this offseason. A few clever tweaks should give John Harbaugh and his staff enough talent to make another Super Bowl run. Executing a masterful 2021 NFL Draft will be a huge priority for the franchise.

Lamar Jackson may not be every offensive coordinator’s dream as a pure passer, but he’s an absolute nightmare for opposing defensive coaches on a weekly basis. Even so, the Ravens would do well to get him a few more weapons in April’s NFL draft.

The defense faces a few potential big-name defections that could influence their draft strategy. Yannick Ngakoue and Matthew Judon could both leave in free agency. If even one of those stars leave it will be imperative for Baltimore to strengthen their edge-rushing options in the draft. Round 1 would be a logical place for the Ravens to start.

26. Edge. 27. player. Michigan. Kwity Paye. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Paye has a chance to go higher in this if he impresses during the pre-draft process, but at the moment, he’s still behind a few guys on most team’s edge rusher rankings. Baltimore should jump at the chance to stop his draft day slide if he’s still on the board when they go on the clock at No. 27.

He’s got the raw athleticism to grow into a top-notch NFL edge rusher in time. The Ravens have enough talent to be patient with his development early in his rookie season. Drafting Paye and giving him the chance to learn behind Calais Campbell would be a recipe for success in Baltimore.
