5 teams Russell Wilson could finish his career with if he leaves the Seahawks
3. Washington Football Team
There’s a new mentality in Washington, with head coach Ron Rivera raising expectations upon being hired last year and installing a better culture. They also have a significant quarterback question to answer, even if Alex Smith is back next season or another veteran is added. They have the cap space to make a big move for a quarterback this offseason, if they want to, as evidenced by easily rumored interest in Matthew Stafford.
If Washington is out there as an option a year from now, Wilson would see a good defense and some intriguing pieces on offense (Antonio Gibson, Terry McLaurin, etc.). Those two areas could be added to this offseason, in lieu of a major long-term move for a quarterback, making them an even more enticing and formidable landing spot for a veteran signal caller in need of a change of scenery.
Coming off an NFC East title, Washington is a team on the rise looking to next season. It’s worth wondering if they’re one of the teams that recently called the Seahawks about Wilson, and they may put that interest in their pocket to pull back out a year from now.
