Iowa will look to score a crucial Big Ten road win against Wisconsin.

The Big Ten has been a beast this season, placing four teams inside the Top 16 seeds revealed by the NCAA Tournament selection committee last weekend. One of those teams was Iowa, which improved its bracketology stock last week by picking up a pair of wins against Rutgers and Michigan State.

Those wins proved to be critical for the Hawkeyes, who had raised concerns of a seemingly-annual February fade by dropping four of their previous five games. Saturday’s win in East Lansing was particularly impressive for Iowa, which beat the Spartans by 30 despite getting only eight points out of Luka Garza.

Iowa hits the road tonight for a critical Big Ten matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers, who have traded wins and losses over their past eight games. Sunday’s game against Michigan was a brutal one for the Badgers, who built a huge lead only to watch the Wolverines surge back and win by eight with an impressive finish.

A loss like that can lead to a hangover in the next matchup, which is something that Wisconsin will look to avoid. Having a senior-laden team will help as the Badgers’ deep rotation is loaded with upperclassmen that have the experience necessary to move past Sunday’s disappointment quickly.

This is the first of two meetings over the final five games between the Hawkeyes and Badgers, who will wrap up the regular season in Iowa City on March 7. This contest is significantly more important for Wisconsin, which has seen its seeding slip as a result of their result struggles.
