The Cowboys currently don’t have a fifth-round pick of their own after trading it to the Philadelphia Eagles last year to obtain a fourth-round pick. They may still obtain one in the form of a compensatory selection.

Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft – Sixth Round

Dallas doesn’t have a sixth-round pick after sending this year’s pick to New England in a trade for defensive end Michael Bennett. This choice should be replaced when the NFL announces its compensatory picks.

Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft – Seventh Round

Building quality offensive line depth is critical in Dallas so taking a flyer on Cleveland in the last round makes a ton of sense. One thing that is noticeable about Cleveland is his massive 6-foot-8, 354-pound frame, which is tough to duplicate in the NFL.

This pick could allow the Cowboys to draft Cleveland as a backup with an eye towards developing him into a future starter. Those kinds of gambles make more sense when you find a prospect with the impressive frame that Cleveland brings to the table.
