It’s been quite a big few months for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. He appeared in his second Super Bowl, got engaged and now he’s a brand-new father. Mahomes and fiancée Brittany Matthews have welcomed their first child, a daughter via Instagram.
The image shows the child’s hand gripping Mahomes’ finger while resting on the chest of Matthews. Matthews is wearing a necklace inscribed with the child’s name.
“Sterling Skye Mahomes 2/20/21,” the caption reads.
Matthews posted the same image but included the birth weight and height in her caption, six pounds, 11 ounces.
Mahomes recently underwent surgery on his toe following an injury sustained during the 2020-2021 postseason. He and his team played in Super Bowl 55 where they faced Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unfortunately, they fell short, unable to score a single touchdown against the man many believe to be the greatest football player of all time. Matthews was in the news for her tweets criticizing the referees and taking shots at fans who weren’t the kindest to her and Mahomes after the embarrassing loss.
Mahomes and Matthews were engaged on Sept. 9, 2020, and have been together since high school.
