Former LSU football coach Les Miles is under investigation for sexual harassment in 2013.

Les Miles was investigated for sexual harassment in 2013, according to a report from USA Today.

The revelation comes three years before Miles was fired by LSU for on-field reasons, but the off-field reasons are coming to light for the first time in 2021.

Miles is currently the Kansas football coach and declined to comment for the USA Today story, was investigated by an outside law firm who determined Miles acted improperly but was not met with public consequences from LSU for his actions.

USA Today is suing in order to get the documents from the 2013 investigation, citing Miles as the state’s highest-paid employee at the time. Miles hasn’t been a stranger to controversy during his coaching career, including mishandling sexual assault accusations or flat-out being negligent in player discipline at LSU. Further, his involvement with hostesses having sex with recruits when he was the head coach at Oklahoma State.

But this investigation is the first directly involving his improper actions. Thus far, Miles and his legal team have remained mum on the matter.

LSU spokesman Jim Sabourin said in a statement, via USA Today: “We are not in a position to comment on these allegations, as there is currently a court order prohibiting the disclosure of any related information.”

Additionally, The Advocate reported on Wednesday that Miles reached a settlement with an LSU student who accused Miles of hitting on her, which took place a decade ago.

No other details of that incident were revealed but it shows a pattern of behavior.

Miles went 114-34 during his LSU tenure from 2005-2016, winning the BCS National Championship Game in 2007 and playing for the national title in 2011.

Miles is entering his third season as the Kansas head coach where he has a 3-18 record, including a winless 0-9 campaign in 2020.
