Tom Brady followed Peyton Manning’s lead by joining Buccaneers.

There were probably a handful of reasons that former New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, jumped ship to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Many have speculated the reason he cut ties after decades in Boston. But now, Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen has given us yet another reason he left.

“There was a part of him the first time I met him, and I had never met him before we picked him up,” Christensen said to CBS Sports Radio. “He said one of the things that looked really fun and challenging to him was what Peyton [Manning] did at Denver. Like kind of the same scenario [in Tampa]. . . . There was something about that challenge that hit [Brady] right. ‘Hey, I’m going to go see if I can do this again somewhere else.’ I do think that the challenge of that was a huge thing for him. . . . He’s mentioned several times that he was impressed [with Manning’s accomplishments in Denver] and that looked fun and challenging to him.”

It’s crazy to see Brady take a page out of the book of another NFL GOAT and do it so well. Clearly heading to Florida was the right decision for Brady who led his team to a blowout victory in Tampa Bay at Super Bowl 55.

Manning switched from the Indianapolis Colts to the Denver Broncos before retiring.
