The Georgia football program loses former four-star wide receiver Tommy Bush to the transfer portal.

After three seasons with the Red and Black, former four-star wide receiver Tommy Bush is transferring from the Georgia football program.

Bush played sparingly for the Dawgs the last two seasons He has decided to enter the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining. Coming out of Samuel Clemens High School, the Schertz, Texas native was the No. 23 player from his state, the No. 37 wide receiver and the No. 196 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He had one catch for one yard in three seasons.

A fresh start is the best thing for Tommy Bush after three years of frustration

Bush was redshirted in 2018. While he did see the field in 2019, he only played in three games that season. The lone catch of his college career came against the in-state rival Georgia Tech. Bush missed all of the 2020 college football season after being hit by a car back in October. He had to have dental work and surgery after the accident.

Overall, Bush’s former four-status never amounted to anything while at the University of Georgia. While the Dawgs’ offense was expected to take flight in 2021 with JT Daniels under center, it will have to do so without Bush in the receiving corps. He could be returning to the Lone Star State.  Baylor and Texas were keen on him as a high school recruit, although both Big 12 schools have new staffs.

Look for Bush to find the best place for him after three frustrating years at Georgia.
