Arizona Cardinals legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is mum on playing in 2021.

While there is no debate if Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer, we are not entirely sure if he has played his last snap in the NFL or not.

Fitzgerald is coming off the worst year of his career with 54 receptions for 409 yards and only one touchdown in 13 games. Will he hang up the spikes or run it back one more time before calling it a career?

Ahead of a charity golf outing on Saturday, Fitzgerald was asked by Brad Cesmat of Sports360AZ.com if he was planning on playing for an 18th season in 2021. Fitzgerald was more interested in playing all 18 holes in that charity golf tournament than giving Cesmat the response he wanted. He did say he would let Cesmat know when he does make a decision about 2021.

Larry Fitzgerald may have one more playoff push left in the tank

Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill has allowed the best player in franchise history to take his time on making a decision. Fitzgerald has spent his entire 17-year NFL career in Arizona after being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He has made 11 trips to the Pro Bowl, an All-Pro team, the 2010s All-Decade Team and has been named Walter Payton Man of the Year.

In 263 career games with the Cardinals, Fitzgerald has amassed 17,492 receiving yards on 1,432 catches for 121 touchdowns. Fitzgerald would be entering his age-38 season in 2021. While he exited his prime three years ago, Fitzgerald may have one more playoff run left in the tank. With Kyler Murray in his third year out of Oklahoma, the Cardinals will be in the playoff mix once again.

It feels more likely than not that Fitzgerald will be back for one more season in Cardinals red, even if he won’t say as much yet.
