Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. AFC. 4. West. Kansas City Chiefs. player. 124

Staying in the AFC West, the talent-rich Chiefs might get even richer on defense as Kansas City makes adding pass-rush help a top priority this offseason.

Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo won a pair of Super Bowls with the NY Giants with some of the most dominant defensive lines in recent NFL history, with Hall of Famer Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora and Mathias Kiwanuka up front. In Super Bowl LV, Spagnuolo and the Chiefs quickly realized that Frank Clark, Chris Jones, and Derrick Nnadi are adequate, but not quite on the level of those Giants lines.

Kansas City knows that it has a Super Bowl window that is open for as long as Patrick Mahomes is quarterback, and pilfering one of the Chargers’ top pass-rushers would make the road to the Super Bowl that much easier.

Chiefs GM Brett Veach will need to work some salary cap wizardry, given that Kansas City is currently $23.1 million over the cap, but if Ingram wants to chase Super Bowl rings, he’ll be welcomed with open arms by Spagnuolo.
