The Philadelphia Eagles finally traded away former franchise quarterback Carson Wentz to kick off their 2021 NFL offseason, but that does not mean they are done at the quarterback position. Jalen Hurts returns and showed some flashes during his rookie season, but no commitment has been made to him being the starter moving forward.

With that said, we take a look at our latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft, with the Eagles bringing in some competition at quarterback.

1. player. 52. . Quarterback. Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence

Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off the 2021 NFL Draft this April, as they currently hold the No. 1 overall pick, and likely will not move from it. With the selection, Meyer makes the no-brainer pick of Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, widely considered the top prospect in this draft class.

With a new head coach in place and a new franchise quarterback, the Jaguars can start their rebuild. This is a franchise that needs a lot of help on both sides of the ball, but they do have two first-round picks this April and can kick this draft off in style by adding one of the better quarterback prospects to come around in a short while.

New York Jets. DeVonta Smith. 2. player. 30. . Wide Receiver

The New York Jets decide to stay at No. 2 overall in this mock draft and also decide to stay with quarterback Sam Darnold, instead bringing in a weapon for him in the passing game. The Jets have a new head coach in Robert Saleh, so may not want to start fresh with a rookie under center, and the hope would be that he can get Darnold pointed in the right direction by building around him.

With this pick, the Jets bring in a Heisman Trophy winner, adding wide receiver DeVonta Smith, a much-needed player to put atop the depth chart at the wide receiver spot. The Jets hold two first-round picks this April, including the No. 23 overall selection, so expect the rebuild to be accelerated as Saleh takes over in New York.

player. 10. . Quarterback. Houston Texans. Zach Wilson. 3

The Houston Texans are going to have to eventually trade away Deshaun Watson, as he has made it clear that he is not going to be putting that uniform back on. If they do trade him, they will certainly look for the best offer possible, and that could come from the Miami Dolphins, who have draft assets and a young quarterback to send back.

Even if they do get Tua in the trade, he has yet to prove that he is a legitimate franchise quarterback, and Zach Wilson is a player who the franchise may not be able to pass up on. With pick No. 3, the Texans bring in the former BYU standout to be the new signal-caller in Houston and hope that this relationship works out better than the last one.
