Georgia football fans will not like what ESPN host Elle Duncan had to say about the Dawgs.

Last week, Auburn football alum Cole Cubelic said the nicest things about Kirby Smart’s Georgia football program on The Paul Finebaum Show. Too bad it took less than a week for Cubelic’s ESPN colleague Elle Duncan to rain on another offseason championship parade for the Dawgs.

Duncan, an Atlanta native, appeared on Finebaum’s show Tuesday to tell Dawg Nation how it is. Duncan said all the things any hopelessly tortured Atlanta/Georgia sports has thought to themselves privately. Minus the most sacred Dooley/Munson/Walker shrine, it was all there. Did she refer to William Tecumseh Sherman in this epic rant? Of course, she did!

Leave it to Atlanta/Georgia sports to find new and creative ways to lose games

The list of sports tragedies plaguing the Dawgs, Braves, Falcons and Hawks is endless. The only team in the city that gets it done is Atlanta United FC. Then again, the Five Stripes sacked Frank de Boer after his club failed to score a single point in the MLS is Back Tournament. While the annual Mark Richt Letdown Game is no more, we have seen Smart underachieve more than once.

I’m not saying the Dawgs are cursed, but I am also not saying the Dawgs aren’t cursed. Only in a city like Atlanta, Georgia can 28-3 and 2nd-and-26 mentally break you. Don’t get me started on the Infield Fly Rule. Overall, Duncan gets it, as she is married to one of us. Leave it to the ATLiens to feel lost in space when it comes to seeing their beloved teams win a championship.

Duncan crushed David Pollack’s perennial optimism, as well as ours with one epic Finebaum rant.
