Oklahoma State basketball looks to pick up a key road win against West Virginia.
The Big 12 regular season is coming to an end and one of the league’s biggest surprises has been Oklahoma State. Few pundits paid a ton of attention to the Cowboys since they were facing a postseason ban but they quietly have morphed into one of the country’s top teams.
Oklahoma State is appealing its postseason ban to the NCAA, which has not made a ruling yet, meaning that the Cowboys can play in the NCAA Tournament if the appeal isn’t heard by Selection Sunday. A late push has moved Mike Boynton’s team into the Top 16 of the field but the Cowboys suffered a setback in Wednesday’s loss to Baylor.

Falling to the Bears is not shameful at all but the bigger concern is in regards to the health of freshman sensation Cade Cunningham, who rolled an ankle in the defeat. Cunningham’s status for today’s game is in question and if he sits out it could really hurt Oklahoma State’s chances of picking up a win.
This is also a significant game for West Virginia, which was eyeing a spot on the two-line before an overtime loss to Baylor on Monday. The Mountaineers rebounded nicely with a win over TCU behind freshman forward Jalen Bridges leading the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
These two teams have already met once this season, with West Virginia escaping Stillwater with a three-point win back in January after rallying from a 19-point deficit in the second half. Cunningham had 25 points and nine rebounds in that game so his availability will play a huge factor in the outcome of the rematch.
