LSU students stage protest over handling of Les Miles sexual harassment scandal

Students at LSU have staged a protest over the handling of the sexual harassment investigation involving former football program head coach Les Miles.

Students at Louisiana State University organized in protest on Monday morning to voice their dismay with how the university has handled the sexual harassment investigation of former football head coach Les Miles.

The information revealed in the probe is utterly disgusting and Miles shouldn’t coach another football game. In 2013, Miles was investigated for his behavior toward female students. The behavior included kissing one of them, inviting women to his condo alone, and hiring female students that were blonde, fit and attractive.

While Kansas has yet to terminate him as their head coach, LSU students have not been so gracious and rightfully so.

A student-led group protested Les Miles on the LSU campus on Monday

Tigers Against Sexual Assault hosted a sit-in on Monday at the LSU football operations building on campus. The protest came in response to the Husch Blackwell report detailing the results of the investigation. Quite a bit of the report details how LSU’s athletics department allegedly covered up incidents over the past decade.

Students called for the terminations of Executive Deputy Athletic Director Verge Ausberry and administrator Miriam Segal without pay. As of right now, both were given unpaid suspensions and Ausberry was ordered to undergo additional sensitivity training.

Former LSU football player Eddie Kennison, who now serves as director of player development, eventually came out to speak with the protesters.

Miles has not yet been disciples for his actions.

Our thoughts and prayers are with any and all victims of sexual assault and or harassment. These actions have no place in collegiate sports nor elsewhere.
