Now that Dak Prescott has finally signed his mega-extension with the Dallas Cowboys, what does the first round of the NFL Draft look like?

The 2021 NFL Draft is next month, and we are already starting to see so many big transactions all over the NFL landscape. On Monday, Dak Prescott was finally given the contract he deserves and will be the Dallas Cowboys franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future.

With weeks left before the draft, we dive into our latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft, a draft that sees the Cowboys get Prescott some much-needed protection.

52. . Quarterback. Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence. 1. player

The Jacksonville Jaguars hold the No. 1 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, and there is little doubt of who they will take to kick off the festivities. With a new head coach in Urban Meyer at the helm, the Jaguars are going to want to get their new franchise quarterback, and they do so here by selecting Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence is widely considered one of the better draft prospects at the quarterback position we have seen in some time, and the Jaguars need a new face of the franchise. In Lawrence, they get a guy who can help kick start this organization, teaming him with one of the better college coaches in recent memory.

player. 30. . Quarterback. New York Jets. Zach Wilson. 2

The New York Jets hold two first-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, and some believe they could trade out of the No. 2 spot for even more picks. If they do stay put at No. 2, then the pick will likely be quarterback Zach Wilson, especially with a new head coach at the helm in Robert Saleh.

Of course, the Jets could hold on to Sam Darnold, putting real assets around him, and giving him a chance to actually become a legitimate NFL quarterback. But, drafting Wilson hits the reset button on the position group, and if they pass on him, and Darnold does not work out, it could spell the end for general manager Joe Douglas.

59. . Wide Receiver. Miami Dolphins. DeVonta Smith. 3. player

Like the New York Jets, the Miami Dolphins also hold two first-round picks this April, this after trading away Laremy Tunsil to the Houston Texans. With the Texans being so bad last season, their pick is actually No. 3 overall, which is a great place to be for a team that nearly made the playoffs last season.

With this pick, the Dolphins decide that Tua Tagovailoa is in fact their franchise quarterback, reuniting him with Alabama teammate DeVonta Smith, who is fresh off a Heisman Trophy-winning campaign. Smith joins the Dolphins and immediately becomes the WR1, as the franchise starts to build around their franchise QB.
