Stephen Curry and LeBron James have this one thing in common, and you are never going to believe what it is.

Everybody and their brother knows LeBron James is from Akron, Ohio. But guess what? Another NBA superstar shares the same birthplace. Yes, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was born in the same hospital as King James himself.

James was born in Akron on Dec. 30, 1984. For the first 18 years of his life, he called Akron home, playing his first seven professional seasons for his home state’s Cleveland Cavaliers. Curry grew up in Charlotte, as his father Dell Curry is a Hornets legend. However, he and his wife Sonya had Stephen on March 14, 1988, in Akron while Dell played for the Cavaliers. It is so crazy, but it’s true.

LeBron James, and Stephen Curry, are the pillars of Akron basketball greatness

While Curry has been careful to not tread on the Los Angeles Lakers forward’s territory, he should be proud of where he is from, even if he shares the same birth hospital as one of the Warriors’ biggest rivals of the last decade. Curry is cool to keep claiming Charlotte his hometown, but if he ever wants to team up with James to do something special in Akron, we would all embrace it.

It is exceedingly rare to claim a basketball player from anyone’s hometown. It is even rarer if they are two of the four best players in the game today. To not be related and share the same birth hospital is utterly mind-blowing. That hospital in Akron, Ohio straight up births basketball greatness. No wonder Curry tried to keep this in the dark for as long as he did. What are the odds!

Two NBA superstars born less than four years in the same hospital, you cannot make this up.
