The Cincinnati Bengals could be ready to make a big move, as the team is hoping to sign stud defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

Monday has been absolutely bonkers for NFL free agency and we’re not even close to things slowing down for the week. If you’ve blinked and missed some news, you’re not alone. With that said, some more big names are getting ready to be on the move and that includes Trey Hendrickson.

The standout defensive end has multiple teams showing interest in him. Well, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Bengals have serious interest in landing Hendrickson. Could a move to the AFC North be on the horizon for the defensive lineman?

Bengals fans are hoping Trey Hendrickson will end up making his way to Cincinnati

It’s easy to see why the Bengals would want to add Hendrickson. For the last four seasons, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive end has made quite the name for himself in New Orleans. Last season, Hendrickson was an absolute monster in the trenches coming off the edge, finishing 2020 with 13.5 sacks.

His previous high was 4.5, so the fact that he tripled that number this past campaign surely has several general managers across the NFL drooling at the thought of adding him to their defense. With Hendrickson also having interest in potentially joining Cincinnati, we very well could see him ending up with the Bengals.

Last season, Cincinnati had another disappointing year which was only made worse when No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow went down with his torn ACL. The quarterback has been rehabbing like crazy, though, and is motivated to come back stronger than ever. With the Bengals building toward the future around Burrow, adding a guy like Hendrickson will send quite the statement to the rest of the division.
