The Chicago Bears reportedly had their best offer for quarterback Russell Wilson turned down by the Seattle Seahawks.

Chicago Bears fans everywhere watched on Tuesday as their Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson dreams came to a screeching halt with the signing of veteran quarterback Andy Dalton. The Bears were also reportedly in the running for Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick before ultimately agreeing to a one-year, $10 million deal with 33-year Dalton old on Tuesday afternoon.

Now that the dust is settling on the Dalton deal, it’s being reported that Chicago took a big swing and a miss at Wilson before opting for Dalton.

Russell Wilson was reportedly not made available to the Chicago Bears in trade talks

It was clear before this NFL offseason began that Mitchell Trubisky’s time in Chicago had likely come to an end. Windy City faithful got a little excited when Wilson listed their team as one of very few teams that he could see himself playing for if the Seattle Seahawks were indeed looking to trade him.

Apparently, they were not.

Wilson has, over the past several weeks, become more vocal about his disappointment in the Seahawks franchise. His main issues were a lack of say in their offensive schemes and a lack of protection from his offensive line, two pretty major concerns for your franchise quarterback to have.

However, in the past few days, it’s become more apparent that Wilson will likely be in a Seahawks uniform when the season starts. It’ll be interesting to see if Wilson is as vocal about staying in Seattle as he’s been about possibly leaving.
