Eagles discussing Zach Ertz trades with multiple teams

The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly allowing veteran tight end Zach Ertz to explore trade options, and several teams are interested.

Veteran tight end Zach Ertz’s time with the Philadelphia Eagles is coming to an end. The three-time Pro Bowler has reportedly been given the green light by the organization to seek trades in his favor.

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, multiple teams are interested.

The Eagles are still nearly $18 million over the salary cap and shipped Carson Wentz off just a few weeks ago. Now they’re left trying to figure out the future of their franchise with Jalen Hurts presumably at the helm.

Eagles want proper compensation, Ertz interested in Bills

According to CBS Sports’s Jeff Kerr, the Eagles are seeking a third- or fourth-round pick for Ertz. The former Super Bowl champion holds the record for the most receptions by a tight end in a season in NFL history (116). With over 6,000 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns in eight NFL seasons on his resume, Ertz will definitely be a valuable piece on the trade market.

The veteran seems to be liking posts on social media insinuating that he may be interested in joining the Buffalo Bills. The Bills just agreed to sign veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, so the prospect of Ertz joining an already stellar receiving core is definitely interesting.

The Eagles could technically bring Ertz back at his $12.7 million cap number for 2021. However, this option doesn’t seem likely as Ertz was moved to tears in his end-of-season press conference in January. It was also reported just days ago that he is becoming “increasingly frustrated” with the Philadelphia front office.
